ICC Announced New Cricket Rules 2017


Cricket is changed with passage of time more rules and regulation set up for the TEST, ODI and T20 matches. Recently ICC announced their new rules for cricket matches how they will apply in the match here you will get all information about it. The rules will set to be followed by all international cricket teams series from 28 September 2017 or later series schedule. There are some meetings been set with Umpires to let them known about all these rules and they must regulate them during the match.

#1: Length & Edge of Bat:
The first change that is made is about cricket bats, thickness of bats reduced, the edges will be limited to (40mm) overall depth will be subjected upto (67mm).

#2: Red Card for Cricketers:
Cricket players will be sent of during the match by umpires in case of serious or violent misconduct. Now there are introduction of red card just like in a football once red card shown to player he will be out from the match same thing will be happen from now on in cricket.

#3: DRS (Decision Review System) T20 Introduction
Decision review system, now also be used in the T20 matches. The teams will no longer lose their review during the match if the decision was correct through DRS in case if the review goes wrong a team might lose their review. MS Dhoni is well famous for the DRS review system.

#4: Tethered bails
Bails that are attached to strings will be used for the International matches, so there are less chances for the keepers standing behind the wickets get injured.

#5: Bouncing bat
Many times teams who call for run-out decision face problems when the bat touch the line but at the same time it is bounce in the air cause problem for umpires to give decision out or not out will considered to be run-out from now on when the bails are off from the wicket.

#6: No Ball
A no ball is called off if the ball bounce more then once before the popping crease earlier no-ball called after ball twice (bounce).

#7: Re-calling Batsman
A batsman will be called by an umpire or if the fielding side withdrawn appeal just before next ball of the over. Even if the batsman has left crease went back to pavilion.

#8: Players Substituting
Previously there are four players on substituting bench for a international cricket team and now it has been increased upto 6 players.

#9: Breaks During Match
Lunch or tea break are taken of if the wicket falls in three minutes of interval earlier the time limit is (two minutes) so there one minute addition in the breaks.

#10: Overs limit after Rain
If there is a continuous rain during the match and the 10 overs reduced during the match, the bowlers over limit will not reduce more then two.

#11: Handled the ball
There are many dismissals happen in cricket history when a batsman handled the ball which is a legal delivery, now it is no longer a separate dismissal, it has been included in category “obstructing the field’ law.

#12: Leg Byes
On no-balls leg byes and byes were recorded as no balls in cricket but not leg byes and byes scored separate from the upcoming series.

#13: Boundary Catches
On field players who are making their first contact with the ball need to have taken off from with in the boundary during boundary catches.
